The Henry County Literacy Council is the advisory board for the Adult Education Program.  It is composed of representation from government, school, business, industry, media, clergy, etc.  The organization endeavors to get total community involvement through fund raisers, program volunteers, and general publicity.  The Council meets on the first Friday of each month, durning the noon hour, at the Adult Learning Center.  Mr. Bill Williams is president, Donna Winders, Secretary and Norma Houston, treasure.  One of the chief fund-raisers is the renown “Catfish Races” held the fourth Saturday in April.
