RE:   Employee Health Benefits

The annual enrollment period for benefits begin October 1, 2014 and go until November 1, 2014. In the past, we have held meetings at each school to update employees on changes in benefits. Due to the limited changes this year, we will attempt to update everyone via this memo rather than a meeting. The biggest change is concerning the Vision services so please make sure you read below. Face-to-face meeting times will be available during extended hours at the Central Office (217 Grove Blvd, Paris) on Thursday, October 2nd from 4pm-5:30pm.

 

PREMIUMS

1.Health premiums for the 2015 plan year will NOT increase.  

2.Dental premiums for the 2015 plan year will increase by 2.1%.

 

 

VISION

       See attached “Covered Vision Services” page above

The district currently offers vision through Superior Vision Services. However, due to the rising cost, the district has made the decision to discontinue services with Superior Vision. All employees will be disenrolled in Superior Vision as of December 31, 2014. Beginning October 1, 2014 all eligible employees can enroll in Eye Med Vision through the State Plan for services to begin on January 1, 2015. If you wish to have vision coverage the ONLY way to enroll is to use the EMPLOYEE SELF SERVICE during the open enrollment period. Please see the ESS section below and attached directions on how to enroll. The state plan will have two coverage options, basic and expanded plans. Please see the attached page labeled “covered vision services” to learn more as well as consult the 2015 Decision Guide that will be mailed to your homes.

 

     PARTNERSHIP PROMISE

Employees enrolled in the Partnership Promise please be aware of the requirements for 2015.

 

EMPLOYEE SELF SERVICE

        See attached “Local Education Employee Self Service Instructions”

To make changes to health, dental or vision all employees must do so using the Employee Self Service in Edison. All passwords will be reset. You should receive a letter by mail informing you of your new temporary password and instructions on how to log in.

If you do not wish to make any changes to health, dental or vision for 2015 then no action is required.
