Paris, TN- Students and staff donated fifty-eight units of blood today when the Lifeline Blood Services Bloodmobile visited Henry County High School. The Bloodmobile was on site from 8:00 am- 11:00 am and 11:30 am-2:00 pm.

According to John McCarley who helped participants sign up to donate blood, students must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, have an acceptable iron level, and not be taking heart medications or antibiotics. “We draw around 32,000 units per year in a 17-county area. Donors can donate blood every 8 weeks or six times per year.”

Sherrona Taylor, Donor Recruiter and Community Services for Lifeline Blood Services, talked with students and staff about the importance of donating blood and shared when and where the Bloodmobile will be next. “You can find us at Joe Mahon Ford on November 26 from 1-6 pm and December 5 at First United Methodist Church from noon to 6:00 pm and Lowe’s on December 16 from noon 5:00 pm. We appreciate the support we receive from Henry County Schools!”
