Paris, TN- Since 2004, David Hall has been the cafeteria staff’s favorite maintenance man. He’s been working on Henry County School System’s school cafeteria freezers and general maintenance for twenty years. On December 27, Hall will retire from a 33-year career in school maintenance.

Hall worked 13 years in Weakley County Schools and has been employed with Henry County for twenty years. He says the favorite part of his job is the people he gets to work with every day. He’s known as a jokester and says he’s ready to sleep late, just let his hair grow out, and enjoy retirement. He adds with a wink that he and his dog Rufus will be making sure the recliner doesn’t move. His wife Annette chuckles that she has a few things for him to do at home to keep him busy. “I’ve always enjoyed my job but I’m looking forward to retirement,” he says.

Maintenance supervisor, Jamie Kemp says he’s sorry to see him go and that he’s going to be hard to replace. A retirement party was thrown in Hall’s honor at the Maintenance Building on Dudley Street with cake, punch, and nuts and he received many gifts, cards, and well wishes from his family, friends, and co-workers.
